Imagination and thinking are two major pillars of people's creative activities. The study of creative imagination for children is very beneficial to understand the development of children's creation .With the attention people's creation, the study on creative imagination is in creasing gradually. But compared to other fields of cognition, the study on creative imagination is still a relatively poor supply. This thesis makes an investigation to the development of creative imagination for 8-14-year -old children. The result shows that:1. As a whole, their creative imagination develops with the increasing of children's ages. But this development is not regular. Children's creative imagination develops rapidly from 8 to 10 years of age, but very slowly since 10 years of age and even remains stagnant.2. Children's creative imagination has significant difference in sex.3. Their creative imagination has significant difference to the children of different levels of aghivement. The better their performances are, the higher levels their creative imagination will get.4. In different ages, children state their own imagination in different style.
