China and India both are centuries-old civilized countries. The two nations are on good terms with each other for several thousands years and have a friendly intercourse of economy and culture. Since modern history, the people of the two nations have the same fate of oppressed and exploited by imperialism. India wined independence in 1947 by the struggle of the Indians. And after the People's Republic of China came into existence in 1949, India is the first non-socialistic country of establishing diplomatic relations with China. The Premier of the two nations founded together "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence" which brings a comprehensive influence on Asia and Africa in 1950s. But the Sino-Indian relations run down since 1959. Especially, after the Sino-Indian boundary war, China and India antagonize each other in public. The one critical reason of setback and reverse of the Sino-Indian relations is "Tibetan Problem". Therefore, for the development of the two nations' relations, it's very important to study "Tibetan Problem" on Sino-Indian relations.Based on analyzing historical datum home, the thesis studies the cause and the essential of "Tibetan Problem" on Sino-Indian relations, along with negative effect and possible trend on the development of the two nations' relations. The whole thesis falls into three chapters. Standing from the history angle, Chapter One elaborates the origin of "Tibetan Problem", traditional policy on Tibet that India inherited from Great Britain and the development of the Sino-Indian relations from1950s to 1990s. Especially, the chapter mainly analyzes the Indian double-dealing policy on "Tibetan Problem" and adverse effect that "Tibetan Problem" has made on Sino-Indian relations. Chapter Two widely analyzes various factors that impact Indian policy on Tibet, including meliorating Sino-Indian relations, influence of free media, conflict of nations and religions, conflict of parties in India, influence of "Sino-Tibetan negotiations" and Dalai Group. Later, focusing on Indian diplomatic policy on China and Indian policy on Tibet, the article discusses bilateral factors of America-Indian relations and Russia-Indian relations and Japan-Indian relations. On the basis of the two nations' perspective, Chapter Three demonstrates potential challenge and trend that "Tibetan Problem" works on the Sino-Indian relations. At the same time, the thesis point out: "Tibetan Problem" is a insecure factor all the time to the Sino-Indian relations, but the two nations are capable of laying aside the problem and cooperating hand in hand. In the end of paper, the article brings forward several suggestions and wishes China and India face to the future, enhance the mutual trust and avoid the mutual suspicion, make great efforts to establish the relations of strategic partnership of facing peace and prosperity.
