After World War II, the whole world is in the opening situation. With vario us changes of the contact between every country and the world and the formatio n of the opening situation, international communication on politics, economy, scie nee and culture is becoming more and more frequent, which inevitably brings ab out influence on languages. An increase in the employment of loanwords is certa inly the result of the constant international communication. At present, Korea, Ch ina and Japan are all facing a rapid increase in loanwords, and the problem of 1 oanword abuse is quite serious.Around the present situation of the usage of loanwords in China, Korea andJapan, this essay demonstrates how loanwords were first used and accepted andthe present situation of the usage of loanwords, and does a research into the attitudes and measures taken by the three countries towards loanwords. Loanwordsare the result of social development and frequent country-to-country contact. The use of loanwords is in an increasingly prevailing trend, what should we do toavoid loanword abuse, keep the purity of our native language, and keep pace with the developing world? This is the purpose of this essay.This essay consists of three parts: the preface, the body, and the conclusion. In Chapter I, by using all kinds of reference and bibliographies, we discuss the history of loanwords, and calculate the proportions accounted for by loanwords in the three countries, and give examples of different types of loanwords.In Chapter II, we first show the complex way of loanword introduction in China, and comparing with the cases in Korea and Japan, try to sort through the differences and find out the common things they all share. Also, we analyze th e reason for this fact.In Chapter III, by giving specific examples, we demonstrate the range of us ing loanwords in the three countries, and give a detailed explanation about the 1 oanword abuse and its present situation to stress the seriousness of the problem.In Chapter IV, we summarize the previous chapters and introduce the measu res taken by the three countries to cope with the problem of fierce increase and abuse of loanwords.In the conclusion part, we present the writer's attitude and personal opinion.
