Research On Duan's Alteration On The Explanation Of The Semantic Meaning Of Writing Frequently Used In The Dictionary Of Analysis Writing

"the Dictionary of Analysis Writing" written by Xushen in the dynasty of Eastern Han and "Note on the Dictionary of Analysis Writing" by Duan Yucai in Qing Dynasty can be regarded as the "two treasures" in Chinese traditional linguistics and literature , so there have been a great number of researchers contributing to it .Some expand it in terms of the shape of characters; some in terms of the sound of characters; some in terms of the meaning of characters, some in terms of the historical culture, and so on. This paper gives a simple overview and examination of the viewpoints about the two books made in this field .From the angle of Duan Yucai's alteration of the meanings of the words frequently used. This paper makes an examination about this two books , and divides all the alteration into two types : changes in form and changes in essence, each with a detarled analysis to illustrate itself. This paper also makes a full examination of the achievements, errors and their reasons made by Duan in his alteration of the meanings of frequently used writing, bringing out some questionable points in Duan's alteration.
