Assessment Of University Students' Personality Disorder

The purpose of this research lies in drawing up a kind of suitable personality disorder questionnaire in China according to the DSM— Ⅳ diagnosis standard and the ICD—10 and the CCMD—Ⅲ — R. Due to the suggestion of CCMD—Ⅲ — R ,this study deletes the schizotypal personality disorder in DSM —Ⅳ, thus there are 9 types of personality disorders left, that is, paranoid personality disorder, schizoid personality disorder , antisocial personality disorder , borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder , narcissistic personality disorder, avoidant personality disorder , dependent personality disorder, compulsive personality disorder.According to the analysis of the questionnaire and its relations with other questionnaires, five conclusions are drawn as following:(1) The questionnaire has a good reliability and validity.(2) The types of the personality disorders can be divided into two, not three, that is, anxiety subgroup and the unsteadiness of emotions subgroup.(3)The sex differences in the personality disorders match the realities in China. Men score higher than women in antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and narcissistic personality disorder. And women score higher in schizoid personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, avoidant personality disorder, dependent personality disorder and compulsive personality disorder.(4) When I analysis the validity of my personality disorders questionnaire by using MMPI-PD, there are only three types which correlate significantly to those types in my questionnaire .Maybe there are some differences among the existed personality disorders questionnaires; maybe it is because of the special group of university students.
