| This article summarizes the development of modern love novels, analyses the feature of modern popular love novels, and lays emphasis on the love modes of modern popular love novels which is social-love novel and fiction of love and chivalry according to three modern popular love novels, such as Sorrow and Happiness for Karma, Begonia, Be unfaithful to one's husband. This article discusses the source of modern love novel and explores the changes of ancient love novels. The separate type , amalgamation, revetment are the earliest love modes of romantic novels in Tang dynastic which were succeed by the simulating colloquial stories, huaben novel in Song and Yuan period, and love novel in Ming and Qing period. Until to the End-of-Qing and Early Republic, such love modes changed. Love novels transited to approaching of marriage and live from the ending of marriage and love. This article discusses the cause of changes. Firstly, changes of society and times; Secondly, the idea of modern times authors and aesthetic sense of authors have changed; Thirdly, since modern times, influence from western studies. The eastern and western culture conflicts that changed traditional love modes. The last part of article discusses love modes influencing on the contemporary era novel, which led to lifelikeness, plurality, philosophized in love novel in contemporary era. The opinion of this article is that there is no constant model in contemporary love novels. |
