On Whole Control Of Rhetorical Effects

Being an important part of human rhetorical activities, the whole control of rhetorical effects is of benefit to the formation of rhetorical principles and strategies. As far as the research of rhetorical means is concerned, Chinese rhetoric has achieved great achievements. However, it has been relatively weak on the research of rhetorical principles. Since basic factors, ideas and approaches revealed in dealing with whole control of rhetorical effects are helpful to the formation of rhetorical principles and strategies, which can direct human rhetorical activities, this paper, on the basis of analysis, thinks that four basic factors in the process of the whole control of the rhetoric should be directions, situations, quantities and styles, and that four basic types in the process of the whole control of rhetorical effects include fixed directions, fixed situations, fixed quantities and fixed styles.
