Our country has entered a society of senior citizens since 2003. The market for theaged in China will be the largest in the world. However, the development of theclothing market for the aged is relatively lagging behind and it can't meet the needs. Wuxi is one the 15 key economic cities and the 10 key tourist cities of China. It isone of the moet competitive cities as well. The number of the aged in Wuxi increaseswith a higher ratio in the population than the average value of the whole province.And Wuxi is typical of its kind in the Southern Yangtse and even in the whole country.To enable the survey to be of a business forecast, this article starts with the study ofthe life-styles of the people aged 46 to 65 in the city proper,contrasts them with theconsuming tendencies such as their standards of buying clothes, the places they buytheir clothes, the price of they clothes they buy, the properties of the clothes they liketo buy, what the media likes, etc., makes a further analysis and puts forward thedevelopment tendencies of the life-styles of the aged in the Southern Yangtse and theirclothing consuming. The information was obtained through questionnaires sent to the houses/flats, andthose who joined in the informal discussions. The number and the distribution of allthe answerers were selected according to circumstances. The data processing wasdone by spss. The contents of this thesis are follows. First, study the behaviour ofclothes consuming of the aged in the Wuxi city proper. Second, start with the fivedimensious—the awarenesses of fashion, spending the leisure, family, communicationand price, study the life-styles of the aged in the Wuxi city proper by means of factoranalysis, and obtain the factors—price, fashion, vitality, family and communication.Third, based on the factor analysis, analyse using clustering and integrating thebehaviour of clothes consuming and the variation of the properties of the cities agedpopulation, classify the clothes consuming of the aged into five mainsubmarkets—types of consuming according to the actual family needs, self-control,easy modern, life enjoyment, and fashion and vitality, and advance some suggestionson the designing, making and selling of the clothes for the aged.
