The dissertation focuses on the image of women,through exploring the chinese film ofrealistic them since new period ,hackles a genealogy of the women image and categorizesthem into four women images,such as the image be respected and looked face upward;theimage be looked face downward and sympathized;the image be gazed and consumed byvision;the image being try to escape from gazing as reasonous women .It is discoveredthat the whole women image is dealed with a gazed object image,though there are severalwomen with personality , exploring the development of chinese film since new period .Thewomen image is endowed with diverse meaning: be pointed to the society ideology and thedevelopment of society\ the bewilerdment of the male;be catabolized as a consumed object byvision ,however, women's realistic subsistence\personal consciousness\the state of the spiritsand their emontion experience never be expressed on the film screen.
