Finding The Buddist Elements In Schopenhauer's Theory Of Literature And Art

Shopenhaver (1788~1860),German philosopher, the founder of the theory of"will to live"and art theory of intuitionism. He is also a philosopher influenced most greatly by Buddist thought in Europe.He ever studied carefully Indian Buddist philosophy, and admitted that it is one of the there sources of his philosophy. this thesis will probe preliminarily into the oriental Buddist elements of shopenhaver's literary comment from three aspects:â… . The realistic basis of the relationship between the two-----the source of relationship between all shopenaver's life and the oriental Buddism.This part is the base of the title of choice of this thesis and discussion.This part Will discuss from the following three aspects.First,in the time of Shopenhaver,the survey of spread and influence of the oricental Buddist philosophical documents in Europe. Secondly,the important relationship between Shopenhaver's reading study and evaluation about Indian culture and Indian philosophical words and documents.â…¡. The source of ralationship between the philosophcial basis of Shopenhaver's literary comment and Buddism.Because Shopenhaver's philosophcial thoughts are the source and base of his thought of literary comment, in order to probe into Buddist elements of Shopenhaver's literary comment, we must begin with the relationship between his philosophcial basis and Buddist elements . Thus we will talk about it from the following four aspects. First, the relationship between the two about knowledge of the world outlook ontology. Secondly, the relationship of understanding of outlook on life. Thirdly, the relationship of knowledge methoddogy. Fourthly, the relationship of philosophcial ultimate pursuit.â…¢. The probe into the Buddist elements of Shopenhaver's literary comment. This part is based on the study of the former two parts, and will probe into the Buddist elements of Shopenhaver's literary comment from three aspects, first teleology of the essence of literature and art ,secondly,axiology of f literature and art, thirdly, the theory of intuition of art , and will find out the content of the direct and indirect relationship and lay a solid foundation in order to probe further into the meaning and enlightenment of the mixture of thought of Shopenhaver's literary comment and Buddist elements.Condusion:We will discuss the Buddist elements of Shopenhaver's literary comment and conclude the influence of Buddist thought on Shopenhaver's literary comment and we will discuss the meaning of the mixture of two from the thoughtful and cultural exchange of the East and the West . To begin mainly with Shopenhaver's"will to live"literary comment , the oriental Buddist thought started to become the new element of the thought of the western modern literary comment and the new angle of view of the later western literary and art development and also open a new page of the cultural and thoughtful exchange of the East and the West .
