With spurt development of 21-century science and technology and wide application of information technology, English, as a world communicative language, is playing an important role in the world communication. So a large number of professionals with good command of English in all walks of life are needed, but the truth is that most students can't communicate effectively in English, which gives a great challenge to college English education. Aiming at the current phenomenon of "dumb English", the author analyzes the main problems of present CE teaching and points out what needs reforming, and simultaneously figures out interactive teaching in college English class in order to improve college students' communicative ability in English. The feasibility and effectiveness of interactive teaching on improving students' ability of applying language and integrated quality.This dissertation consists of the following sections.The first part is introduction. The author talks about the background of the dissertation and then puts forth the aim and the hypotheses.The second part theoretically reviews theoretical basis of birth of interactive teaching and its subjective and further speaks of its three principles.The third part brings up the feasible strategy of carrying out interactive teaching and discusses factors which interfere in interactive teaching, under the guide of the theory and in combination of the actual teaching.It finally draws a conclusion that it proves to be feasible to promote students' full evolution in abilities and also some limitations of the study are pointed out.
