In two experiments, the effects of the time information and working memory span on the situation model processing of text were tested. The experiments used 2x3 mixed design, the reading time of the critical sentence was the main index, the short stories were experiment materials, lexical decision task were used in both experiment 1 and experiment 2. The results of experiment 1 indicated: time information was the important dimension for situation model processing, the results supported the scenario model. The results of experiment 2 indicated: the implied time information also affected the situation model processing. The results of the reader with high working memory span support the scenario model. The results of both experiment 1 and experiment 2 indicated: working memory span affected situation model processing, the readers with high working memory span were easier to establish situation model about the text than the readers with low working memory span did. Especially in the process of situation model updating, the difference was more significant.
