| The dissertation tries to shed light on the enormous motive force of the Marshall Plan on the French modernization and make an in-depth analysis of its great effect on France. In the light of the theme, in addition to Introduction and Conclusion, the paper consists of the four chapters.In the first chapter, the course of the French modernization is looked back on. It is characterized by continuity gradual advancement and steadiness. In 1920s, France went through industrial revival of short duration. With the occurrence of the 1929 Great Economic Crisis, France began to slump in economy, in a depression state, and made no progress. After the World War IIbroke out, French modernization discontinue.The second chapter is mainly about the thought and exploration of the modernization when they began to rebuild their country. In the world, they took part in the reconstruction of the international economical order, ratifying the Bretton Woods System. At home, they tried their best to explore the way to modernization. Plans were practiced one by one. In August 1945, Monnet Plan finally came into being.The third chapter tells us the execution of the Marshall Plan and its enormous motive force on the French modernization.In the fourth chapter, it is expounded that the Marshall Plan not only started up the French modernization but also had a great effect on France: to promote the appearance of the French economic planification, to push the West Europe forward to the road of unite, to force France to align herself with the United States and strengthen the Americanization trend of the French society.In all, there is on doubt that the motive force of the Marshall Plan on the French modernization was tremendous. The Marshall Plan saved the Monnet Plan .But at the same time, France also paid a heavy price politically economically , losing its independence.
