The play Thunderstorm was performed in public in Tokyo, Japan in 1934. 70 years later, the Beijing people's art theater performed the third version of the play Thunderstorm in 2004 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the performance of the play Thunderstorm. It is a classic among Chinese plays, and has been put on stage countless over the last 70 years.With the further development of study on the play Thunderstorm, it explores themes from class conflict theories to social problems, through questions on the existence of universal cruelty.Throughout all this period of different performance versions of the play Thunderstorm, it was affirmed that the troupe for the play Thunderstorms had promoted vocational drama performances, the Beijing people's art theater is also considered as the authority of arena for the play Thunderstorms. In order to put the play Thunderstorm in the three-dimensional image and stage performance evaluation, it synthesized the efforts what several the Tianjin people's art theater directors had made for the play, including Xiao-ping Ding and Xiao-ying Wang. This article asserts that personage image of stage is combination of what the author, director and actor are seeking. Generation after generation of artists transformed angle of view constantly and demonstrated the innovative and judicial capacity for the aesthetic value of the book fully. And finally, due to the hard work of generation after generation of directors and actors, it is thrilling to see the spotlight removed from Pu-yuan Zhou (the hero representing the godfather of his social strata)and placed on Fanyi(the heroin representing the repressed woman),who, insulted and overwhelmed can at last appropriately arouse the audience'ssympathy and understanding. The play has natured countless stars who have found a boundless source of inspiration in its colorful exploration of its subject matter.
