In the western music history, Baroque (1600-1750) is an important period in which Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) is the most representative German composer. His music nourishes the younger composers which regard him as"the father of music". His Harpsichord music is an important field and attracts many piano players.Bach's Harpsichord music is deeply affected by his organ music, so some Preludes,Fugues and the Sarabande in his Suites are filled with solemn religion spirit. At the same time, his Harpsichord music reflects the worldly life too.Bach's Harpsichord music pieces include:一,Suite The British Virginal music school in the 16th century and the French Harpsichord musicians in the middle of the 17th century contributed to the development of Suite. The《French Suites》,《English Suites》and《Partitas》which were composed by Bach is the peak of this form. His Suites show various features and express the characteristics of internationalization.二,Variation The《Goldberg variations》composed by Bach includes series of variations based on a theme. This form originated from Spanish Lute music in the 16th century. The《Goldberg variations》summarizes all the variation techniques in Baroque and shows the artistic features of"rococo".三,Concerto The concerto produced in Baroque was an important form in the 18th century, and the piano concerto was created by Bach. Hi《sItalian concerto》was affected by violin concerto composed by Vivaldi.四,《Well-Tempered Clavier》The《Well-Tempered Clavier》is the greatest masterpiece in Bach's harpsichord music.
