The oriental spreading of western culture begins at the end of 16 century brings different effort between China and Japanese. Going through many frustrations, Chinese western culture withers away at last. But Japanese western culture develops from Nanbangaku to Langaku,and then Yogaku period。The important inducement of Japanese latter-day development is the imbibitions of western culture. Comparing Japanese Yogaku before Kaikoku to western culture of Ming and Qing dynasty, the most obvious difference is that Chinese western culture runs short of Langaku period. This text takes the avenue of western culture spreading in these two countries as research object in order to explain this phenomenon by comparing and investigating on these three aspects hereinafter. First, the adaptive policy chooses different aim in China and Japan: Japanese civilian estate and Chinese scholar-bureaucrat; Second, because of the differences on condition and technique, translator and Tsuji exert distinct function in introducing western culture; Third, there are many distinctions on functions and personnel of two countries'organization of western culture.
