Yukio Mishima, a Japanese novelist, dramatist, who was considered by many critics as the most important Japanese writer of the 20th century. Mishima's major works include Confessions of a Mask, The Temple of the Golden Pavilion, The Sea of Fertility, the collection of No or Nogaku. He is considered as the top-grade writer of the contemporary world, the Britain encyclopedia (1972) first time high light Mishima, equal him to Joyce and Prust.As a writer, Mishima drew inspiration from pre-modem literature, both Japanese and Western. His works had profound social root, he claimed to return to the traditional beauty of Japanese arts— "both the pen and the sword".
