Along with the development of foreign language teaching theory and practice, the focus of language teaching research has been shifted from studying how to teach to how to learn. So the subjects of research have been transformed to language learners. Meanwhile, the content of foreign language teaching has also changed from merely imparting language skills to fostering the learners' autonomous learning ability. Researchers at home and abroad have conducted extensive studies on the subjects of learners. They investigate from different aspects the factors that affect learners' achievements, such as gender, age, affection, motivation, learning strategies, learning style. Among them, those studies on learning strategies are the most extensive and profound. While researches on learning styles are on the march for just two decades.A good knowledge of learning styles can help instructors understand learners' differences in learning patterns so that the difference can be respected and different teaching strategies can be adopted accordingly. It also benefits learners who choose the appropriate learning strategies through understanding their own learning styles. Once learners are aware of the strong and weak points of their own learning styles, they can improve themselves by extending their learning methods.
