Quantitive Study Of Characters Written On Bamboo Slips Of Shuihudi Tomb Of Qin Dynasty

With the method of systematic analysis, this thesis has done a systematic description and exhaustive analysis on the configurational system of the Chinese character written on the ancient book copied on bamboo slip unearthed from Qin Tomb Shuihudi.The whole thesis includes five parts: the Introduce, Chapter one, Chapter two, Chapter three, and the Conclusion.The prolegomenon part mainly contains the purpose and the method of the thesis, and introduces the current research of this kind of materials. The Chinese characters in Qin of the Warring States era has a special position on the history of Chinese characters, especially, the bamboo scripts unearthed from Qin Tomb at Shuihudi, which can be called the Shuihudi Qin bamboo scripts for short, are the best of all unearthed materials to study the Chinese characters in Qin dynasty for a great deal of popular characters and plentiful fruits of studying. According to above introduction, the Shuihudi Qin bamboo scripts are chosen as the best materials for the research. Although there are abundant in research fruits from the whole content to the individual word, from the grammar to graphic shape, it is still an insufficiency in studying the materials from the configurational system. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to describe the configurational system of Shuihudi Qin bamboo scripts with exhaustive investigation and find the rules of their development.The chapter one mainly clears up and analyses the typical graphic shapes. Firstly, to chose the typical graphic shapes from all characters typed in database. Secondly, to distinguish the different graphic shapes and collect the common graphic shapes by the differences of expressive function. There are 1606 typical graphic shapes and 1734 configurational units. At last, to describe the whole situation of the Shuihudi Qin bamboo scripts, which include the frequency of individual character and the distributing of different graphic shapes.The chapter two manly describes the configurational system of Shuihudi Qin bamboo scripts. Above all, 886 direct component parts and 463 basal component parts are divided from 1734 graphic shapes.
