| Dostoyevsky, the famous and controversial Russian writer, is well known for his unfortunate and turbulent life experiences, which is inseparable and reflected from his conflicting approach to life and human race. In his masterpieces, males as well as females of pungent personalities were invented. And through his narration and description, his approach to women was expressed vividly.The thesis is composed of Foreword, Chapter â… ,â…¡,â…¢,â…£ and Conclusion. The Foreword mainly introduces the author's research purpose, methods adopted and current situations of relative researches at home and abroad.Chapter â… ,â…¡ and â…¢ describe the narrative functions of different females in Dostoyevsky's novels. Chapter â… starts with the structural comparison between The Brothers Karamazov and The Idiot, and further comes to the conclusion that females were used as focus of the tales to be composed. Chapter â…¡ begins with the comparison between The Insulted and The Injured and Crime and Punishment, analyzing females' performance as the beginning character and ending character. While Chapter â…¢ analyzed the secondary females in his novels, who were used as the middling characters.Chapter â…£ starts with Dostoyevsky's attitude to females. To him, females were a myth as well as a mist around his mind. Whenever he is composing something, the characters pop up into his mind and become inseparable components of his novels.The Conclusion is a summary of the thesis. Through the analysis of Dostoyevsky's female characters, his loving and hating attitude to females is disclosed, who meanwhile plays an everlasting influence over his compositions. |
