| Changying Yuan is a famous modern writer, translator and expert on the history of foreign literature, who has been neglected for a long time by most academicians in China. On the foundations of collecting data and reading in detail, this thesis attempts to study Yuan's choice and acceptance of the modern literature ideological trend in the west. The prefaces surveys Yuan's life, creations and study at home and abroad, and stages her creations. The first part has discussed the feminism in Yuan's creations and its transformation from traditional culture, and her construction of theory of androgyny. Section I thinks, Women are the protagonists in Yuan's text, who are bathing in feminism, humanitarianism, democratic and scientific sunshine, and have subverted the traditional text to some extent. Section II thinks, Yuan started her construction of androgyny theory in the 1920s. The author will expound this theme from the following aspects: her creating mood androgynous, the neutral text and the ideal relations between men and women. Section III has analyzed the traditional literature motif, image and cultural attitude in Yuan's text, and pointed out that she has transformed the feminism with Chinese traditional culture .The second part pays more attention to Yuan's choice and acceptance of Psychoanalysis, Aestheticism and Pantheism. Section I surveys Yuan's introduction of Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytical literary criticism, and discusses the effect of Psychoanalysis on Yuan's creations such as A Pair of Peacocks to The Southeast Fly. Section II thinks, Aestheticism plays such an important role in Yuan's creation that Yuan always artify and beautify life. At the same time, Yuan has abandoned the decadent and influence of Aestheticism. Section III thinks, Pantheism has played an important role in destroying idolatry in Yuan's creation. Yuan's Pantheism comes from the East as well as the West. The postscript is the prospect of study of Yuan. |
