Research On University Students' Self Consistency And Congruence And Suicide Attitude Of And Their Relationship

The study chose 722 university students randomly and measured with SCCS (Self Consistency and Congruence Scale) and SQA(Suicide Attitude Questionnaire).With the help of SPSS and LISREL, the main features of university students' self consistency and congruence and suicide attitude and their relationship are analyzed in order to provide new view for mental education and prevention of suicide among undergraduates to reduce the occurrence of suicide.The research results show: Firstly, university students show a good self consistency and congruence. But the situation is getting worse compared with former students. Secondly, most of the university students remain contradictive and neutral attitude to suicide. Thirdly, there is close relationship between self consistency and congruence and suicide attitude. Self consistency and congruence is the main factor to influence suicide attitude. Fourthly, the perception of their family relationship influences undergraduates' self consistency and congruence and attitude to family members of suicider. Fifthly, the relationship model shows that the three factors of self consistency and congruence have significant effect on the three factors of suicide attitude in different degrees. But the predicting value of the three factors of self consistency and congruence for suicide attitude is not high .This shows the suicide attitude is complex and volatile.To strengthen university students' mental education and to help and intervene the students who have the tendency of suicide is an effective method for suicide prevention.
