In nowadays China's linguistics research, sociolinguistics attracts more and more attention.The theory on address forms, which is an indispensable element of sociolinguistics, has been more and more perfect in recent years,. The address forms in San Yan Liang Pai, a best works in the history of Chinese pop novels, are quite valuable as research samples. This paper only focuses on the address forms in San Yan instead of both San Yan and LiangPai because of the restraints of the paper length. Address forms among kinships and the acquaintances are the main concern in this paper, which are researched from the perspective of sociolinguistics with a comprehensive investigation and a comparison between address forms in contemporary Chinese.Firstly, the part of introduction is a general introduction of address forms and relating concepts. Then the address forms in "San Yan" are classified into different functional systems on the basis of ready research, especially LI Mingjie's(of East China Normal University) corresponding research.Secondly, an introduction and relating explanations of the address form system in "San Yan" is given with the focus on vocative forms among kinships and those among acquaintances, which is conducted from the angle of emotive and identity functions in functional linguistics. The vocatives in this paper refer to: kinship vocative; address form of occupation; titles; acquaintance vocatives; address forms for respect; address forms for discrimination; address forms for intimacy as well as other address forms such as address form for modesty and insulation etc.Thirdly this paper discusses the cultural phenomena reflected from the address forms and vocatives in "San Yan" from the perspective of sociolinguistics.Lastly a comparison between the address forms in the novel "San Yan" and those of contemporary Chinese is made in this part and a summary of the features of the historical development of address forms is pointed out as well.
