University students' cognition of anger still remains in developing phase and having a lot of irrational thoughts of anger. When facing with anger, their juvenile behavior usually gives rise to negative effects. In domestic, relevant research on anger emotion of university students is in its pioneering time, whatever the measurements or study of intervention method is still immature. The purpose of the research was to develop a cognitive-behavioral group counseling program and to examine the immediate and follow-up effects of cognitive-behavioral group counseling on university students of anger management and provide reference for the administration of anger management counseling.The research is designed as two parts: The first part focused on the revise of State-Trait Anger Expression Scale, which has been widely utilized, examination of its reliability and validity, investigation of its application in university students in our country ,with a hope of providing a measurement for follow-up research .The second part was about to develop a cognitive-behavioral group counseling program and to examine the immediate and follow-up effects of cognitive-behavioral group counseling on university students of anger management. 22 students were randomly assigned into experiment group and control group. The eleven students in experiment group were arranged to attend eight sessions (total 16 hours) of cognitive-behavioral group counseling. The control group received no treatment.
