| Based on the five intermediate Chinese reading textbooks that have been published since 1999, this paper sets up a database containing all the exercises of the five intermediate TCSL reading textbooks. In the paper, the author comprehensively study the exercise design and layout from three aspects—the exercise quantity, style and content, and further summarizes their features and points out the defects of the exercises arrangement through statistics, contrast and analyze the objective condition of the five sets of intermediate Chinese reading textbooks. On the research results, the author roughly inquires into the targets of the exercises design and layout, and puts forwards some suggestions and principles on how to design and layout the exercises in intermediate Chinese reading textbooks. |
