Analysis On Rhetoric Inference Of WangXifeng

The figure of WangXifeng shaped by CaoXueqin in"Dream of the Red Chamber"attracts scholars from generation to generation to analyze, unscramble and study it from different aspects and angles. Much achievements have been obtained, which all contributes to the study on this region, and is helpful to us for understanding and unscramble"Dream of the Red Chamber". However, there is no literature concerned with WangXifeng from the angle of remonstration and persuasion, which is very the important aspect of this figure. Therefore, this paper analyzes Wang's art of remonstration and persuasion from the angle of rhetoric inference, and discusses its law and characteristics.There are principally four parts in the paper: chapter 1, introduction. Contents are as follows: 1, Expound the meaning of the phrase"rhetoric art"; 2, Summarize the researches of Aristotle in"rhetoric art"; 3, Comment on and analyze Aristotle's theory about"rhetoric art"; 4 Interpret the study scope of this paper. In Chapter 2, 3, 4, we analyze specifically Wang's rhetoric inference, which is divided into two classes: rhetoric deductive argumentation and inductive argumentation according to different inference type. Furthermore, on the base of different argument or inference type, we reclassify the inductive argumentation into several classes such as example class, customs-language class and so on, and deductive argumentation into aphorism class and no-aphorism class, etc. According to different communicative purpose, the behavior of persuasion is divided into make-typed and render-typed. Finally, from these angles we analyze Wang's persuasion art, and expound the processes of rational argumentation.We also consider and furthermore analyze other factors which influence the persuasive power of Wang's. We also analyze the influence of the status, position, social role, etc on persuasive power of argumentation, in addition to Aristotle's theories of feelings and character.
