Nowadays, more and more researches focus on the violin teaching, which bring about various advanced teaching concepts and concrete teaching methods. However, more attention is paid to the playing skills, the analysis of musical works and teaching experience, teaching concepts and teaching methods, while little is paid to the psychological problems during the process of the violin teaching. In fact, psychological factor is an important problem throughout the whole teaching process and the violin learning is, actually, a psychological process of cognition. Therefore, this thesis tries to make some researches into the cognitive psychological factor, aiming at revealing its influence on the violin teaching and exploring the application of psychological theories to it, which will help us teach our students more sensibly, properly and effectively. The thesis is divided into eight sections, three chapters. Based on the available research results, along with the help of a lot of relevant knowledge in other fields and some scientific research methods, such as document, observation, analysis, and contrast, the author analyzes the violin teaching from the perspective of cognitive psychology, trying to explore the significance of cognitive psychological factor to the violin teaching and the application of psychological theories to the violin teaching. The first chapter provides an analysis to the influence of cognitive psychological theories on the forming process of the violin playing skills. Firstthe author briefly introduces some knowledge about cognitive psychology, which provides scientific theoretic basis to the application of cognitive psychology to the violin teaching. With the analysis to the basis of brain science of the playing skills of the violin, the forming processes of these skills and their features, the author comes into such conclusion: cognitive psychological factor plays an important role in the forming processes of the playing skills of the violin; the teaching and learning of the violin skills can't go without a series of cognitive psychological activities, such as perception, memory, imagination and thought. The second chapter relates cognitive learning theories and their application in the violin learning. With the help of cognitive learning theories, the author explains three methods of the violin learning: perceptual cognition, rational cognition and fuzzy cognition. The third chapter is about the application of cognitive psychological theories to the violin teaching. With years of amateur teaching experience, the author tries to explore how to apply cognitive psychological theories (i.e. cognitive psychological activities like attention, sense, perception, image, memory, thought) to the violin teaching.
