| Based on intertextuality theory, this paper explores discussion notes of BBS from linguistic and social linguistic perspectives.As an essential social communication way, BBS (Bulletin Board System) has been playing an increasingly important role in online communication and has exerted significant influences on public opinion. However, it lacks linguistic researches. Present researches on intertextuality are mainly translations and introductions of related theories and there are few examples which analyze Chinese materials. BBS is a cyber space where intertextulality plays an important part and discussion notes are the only language record.With discussion notes as research object and intertexuality as theoretical foundation, this paper discusses the definition of intertexuality, as well as the link structure and semantic structure of intertextuality in discussion notes. Furthermore, on the basis of the above discussion, it explores controls on online public opinion with specific examples.The paper includes six chapters.The first chapter is the Introduction, including definition of the research object, analysis of research significance and value, review of present research achievements in related fields such as intertextuality, internet language, and BBS, and general introduction of examples search, research scope, and research methodology.Chapter two is the intertextuality of Discussion Notes. The connotation of intertextuality is restudied from theoretical perspectives. Intertextuality should fulfill the following three requirements: more than two independent units, interactions between the units, and all the units express a complete meaning. Intertextuality can be studied on the basis of both genetic linguistics and reception, and emphasis in this paper is laid on the former. Intertextuality is best revealed on BBS, and on this basis, the paper makes comparison of many discussion notes and concludes with specific examples that the three requirements are all well fulfilled. It is feasible to study intertextuality both in theory and practice through analyzing discussion notes.Chapter three is the Interlinkage of Discussion notes's Intertextuality. We analyzes forms and structures of intertextuality by introducing "Link Structure" in computer science. Based on the fundamental definition of intertextuality, the paper presumes that the basic unit of "Link Structure" is the link unit which is the smallest unit that fulfill the requirements of intertextuality, including initial notes, initial nodes, link notes, and link notes. Using deduction, the paper begins with changes of the essence of link units and deducts four basic link structures of discussion notes with intertextual characteristics, which are Z type, D type, L type and Y tape.Chapter four is the Semantic Structure of Intertextuality. According to whether it can further develop notes, intertextuality can be categorized into attentive intertextulaity and tractile intertextuality. Since tractile intertextuality can produce new nodes and expand discussion notes, it will be discussed in detail in the next chapter. Based on fundamental types of link structures of intertextuality, tractile intertextuality can be categorized into three types according to different ways to produce nodes. The three types are wild geese type (led by one and all moving together at the same speed), stars type(scattered without emphasis), and continuous type, which is in accordance with three basic types of link structure: Z type, D type, and L type. The paper also explores different developing functions of different forms on discussion notes.Chapter five is the Intertextuality of Discussion Notes and The Public Opinion on Internet. Based on semantic structure types of intertextuality and with specific examples, we analyzes in detail attentive intertextuality, and tractile intertextuality as well as the topic function of its three inner types from the aspect of controlling public opinion.Chapter six is the Conclusion which summarizes main idea of the whole paper and related conclusions.In a word, with discussion notes as research object, the paper makes systematic linguistic analysis of definitions, forms and structures, semantic structures, and topic characteristics of intertextuality, and further explores social semantic functions of intertextual discussion notes through specific examples of discussion notes. The paper concludes that linguistically discussion notes are of typical intertextual structure, and they are of great significance to researches on online communication as well as search and analysis of internet public opionion. |
