The Chinese modern literature embodies the rich experiences of Chinese people in history. It constitutes an important aspect of Chinese humanism environment. So it comes so surprise that the question that how this literature was accepted catches researchers' attention. As a vital field of literature diffusion, literature education in secondary schools has been emphasized all along. Today the significance of literature education in schools has been recognized unprecedently in this time's curriculum reform. Under this context it is worthwhile research job to investigate the receptive state of modern literature from the lens of the state quo of the literature education in secondary school, or to reflect the literature education from the theoretical perspective of literature reception.This paper consists of four sections. The first is the introduction. In this section, the research context, the definition of problem, the significances of research and the research design are discussed orderly. The main point of the second section is to analyze the characteristics of the status of literature education in Chinese secondary schools, which is based on the analysis of the selected works in the textbooks. From this perspective, the author finds the humanity and subjectivity dimensions of literature education are given a meaningful new understanding. The third section chooses another perspective to study literature education. Lu Xun is an important figure in literature field, so the analysis of how his works have been interpreted is a good point to illuminate the characteristic of literature education. Based on this idea, the third section put forward several important findings about literature education. In the final section, the author concentrates on what and how the fiction as one of important style of literature is taught in secondary school. The classic text "Good Wishes" is discussed especially in this section to illuminate the fiction education. From this perspective, some deep characteristics and structure are unveiled.
