A Study On The Professional Scubadivers' Mental Health,Personality And Their Relationship

It is a very important and complex problem that to weigh one's health condition and it's level. Professional divers is a kind of special group which taking on the mission that national coast defence. The army attach importance to the research of divers' mental health and mental diathesis. Mental health means individual could adapt the developing condition, keep perfect personality and keep good ability of control. Both mental health and personality is impacted by descendiblity and surrounding, and there is consanguineous connection between the two. Personality character is that individual's steady mental character got from the development of mental. Professional divers work in special natural and society condition. To research their mental health and personality and the connection between the tow is significative to mental health educating and improving divers' mental health condition.The data (age, gender, SCL-90 table questionnaire and 16PF personality factor questionnaire) used in this research is offered by the School of Navy Submarine. By using describing target and the method single factor analyse, this research got scubadivers' condition of mental health and personality and discussed the connection between the two by using Pearson and Structural Equation Model.Main results:1. SCL-90 table questionnaire shows that besides subjective body discomfort all the scores of scubadivers are better than normal that contains force-symptom, connections, sensitivity, dumps, suspense, opposition, consternation, crankiness, psychopathy.2. 16PF personality factor questionnaire shows that: (1) Divers gain higher in using strengh, sensitivity, anxiety, dumps, suspicion and lower in sagacity, stability, excitability, durative, fantasy, self-discipline, tentative, experience. (2)Double personality factor shows that divers adapt work condition more easily, little tremble emotion; Little impulsion when there is accident and little independency person; extroverted selfhood, be good at communion, strong determination, good improve attitude, well done when face difficulty.(3)The appliance factor applies scubadivers have good mental health and higher mental diathesis; they have passion on own work, and many of them have feeling of success; the average score of the ability of innovation and development is lower while the proportion is higher than normal.3.The connection between SCL-90 table questionnaire and 16PF personality factor questionnaire: (1)Pearson applies that 9 genes in SCL-90 table have connection with stability, durative, adventure, self-discipline sensitivity, suspicion, anxiety, tensity in 16PF questionnaire. This means the scubadiver who has better personality would have less problem on mental health.(2) Structural Equation model applies that the 9 targets used to measure mental condition is fitted(>0.7), personality has obvious effect on mental health, the main factor is stability(=-0.57), durative, adventure, self-discipline, anxiety, tensity.Conclusions and suggestions:1. Conclusions: â‘ Professional divers' mental health is better than normal and have stronger ability of adapting job; â‘¡Personality has obvious effect on mental health, the main factor is stability, durative, adventure, self-discipline, anxiety, tensity. â‘¢The more extroverted, the less matter on mental health; Improving divers' self-discipline and stability of emotion while reducing intensity and anxiety would be good at keeping divers' mental health.2. Suggestions: This military area should â‘ Pay more attention on training kinds of ability and divers' culture of moral; â‘¡Reinforce the education of divers' mental health and improve their self-mental condition; â‘¢Set reasonable course and training to reduce divers' load of study and work; â‘£Constitute professional divers mental health record an mental consultation clinic to find and settle mental problem on time.
