This thesis discusses the similarities between Shen Congwen's aesthetic sense and Rousseau's aesthetic romanticism.The preface introduces several kinds of views in academic field about the thought of Shen Congwen and Jean Jacques Rousseau, and takes a simple introduction on the reasons why the author chose to write the article. The fist part demonstrates that Shen Congwen is so special on Chinese morden literature. He is self-assured that he is a romanticist, and this indicates he is a critic of enlightenment modernity. The second part tells that Hunan Xiangxi is a spirit garden to Shen Congwen. He believes going back to Xiangxi can bring him back to nature. The third part discusses"Beauty"and"Love"in Shen Congwen's philosophy. The last part summarizes the main standpoint in this thesis, emphasizes Shen Congwen is a Romanticist.
