Pu Songling is one of the most outstanding writers at the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Danasty of China. His famous work 'Liao Zhai Zhi Yi' (Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio) is a remarkable work that shows the Chinese traditional culture of highlighting the oneness of human and universe, and reflects the close relationship between human being and nature. The ideological content and its achievements in the art of literature have achieved the highest peak in the development of Chinese classical short stories. The thesis aims to make an exploration from the perspective of Pu Songling's philosophical ideas, focusing on probing into the natural theme of 'Liao Zhai Zhi YI' and the relation of human and nature revealed in it. By analyzing the harmonious and inharmonious contact of human and nature, and the relation of human and plants, human and animals, the thesis aims at showing that 'Liao Zhai Zhi YI' does not expect human to be in charge of the nature, in stead, it hopes that human and nature can interact in a friendly and equal way, and create a harmonious environment. The study also aims to reveal that the work is pregnant with aesthetic ideal of harmony between human and nature, and that it is a masterpiece of highlighting the relationship between human and nature.
