Chinese traditional paintings are symbols of independent cultures of China and Oriental countries, which implicate the special feature art, so-called "写意" (Xie Yi) feature art.The special feature art represents that ink and wash figure painting that contains philosophy and cosmology. From ancient traditional arts to modern arts, Chinese traditional painting, itself namely ink and wash figure painting, underlies various philosophical thoughts such as Confucianist, Taoist, Lao-tzu and Chuang-tzu. With these foundations, the Chinese traditional painting has built its basic features: Chinese brush and ink, brush touching ana co(?) control. We are now reproducing these in-depth philosophical ideas and features by making step-by-step progress through laborious studies. Furthermore, we are obligated to apply what we have learnt from traditions to the language of modern painting and re-analyze them from a new viewpoint. Traditional paintings theory also expresses that we should make much effort to perpetuate and continually develop these sprits and ideas from simple copying traditional paintings to creating them as manifestations of modern art.Overall, we have to approach Chinese traditional painting as an aggregate concept of traditional painting techniques, painting features and philosophical ideas. This study is to summarize important ink figure artists and basic concepts by key period. I conclude by describing my own painting languages which I have developed and will develop while I keep conducting my arts as a student.
