| This thesis will discuss the role of Haizi in the modern poetry history and the great influence he has made or will make as a genus poet who died early in his writing career. Compared with his widely recognized and praised short lyrics, his long epics that reflect all his personal ambitions have been declined to comment by either literature critics or ordinary readers. So the thesis will explore the causes of his failure and success in epics from the following aspects: the origin and characteristics of epics, the life of Haizi, and the historical background he was against. |
