The modern drama of Henan opera,"Chao Yang Channel", from her premiere in 1958 to the re-performance after the"four-person-party"crumpled, then to the rehearsal and going to the capital to perform, has experienced near half a century. She has accompanied and affected a few generations during the past fifty years. Thanks to her right creation principle,"Chao Yang Channel"has attracted continued interest and kept unfailing since her premiere. Her success has not only promoted the prevalence and innovation of the modern Henan opera, but also inaugurated a new era of the Henan opera. Through studying and summarizing the successful experience of the musical creation and the far-reaching influence of"Chao Yang Channel"carefully, this paper presented some novel findings and opinions, which might provide some references to the development of the Henan opera.This paper consists of four parts:The first part: reviewed the current research status and put forward the theme, aim, and importance of this paper.The second part: depicted the formation of modern drama of the Henan opera from the point of history and discussed the creation process of"Chao Yang Channel". The third part: analyzed and summarized the character of the musical creation of"Chao Yang Channel"from three aspects: scientific inheriting of the essence of Henan opera, courageous innovation on the basis of inheriting the tradition, and successfully figured the drama music model.The fourth part: outlined the significant influence of the successful creation experience of"Chao Yang Channel". It is the creation idea that promoted the progress of modern drama and made momentous contribution on the modernization .
