At the drainage area of the Yellow River in the central China, Zheng has been being popular with a long musical history. There are three different schools of Zheng, each with its own distinctive feature and style. They are Henan Zheng, Shandong Zheng and Shanxi Zheng. In geography, the three provinces are closely connected, but each school, greatly influenced by its local folk music and dialects in a long term, has gradually formed its own feature and style. This article tries to make an all-round comparison to the three schools from several aspects. In chapter one,the writer makes a study on the relations between Zheng and local folk music ,such as the local traditional opera, the talking and singing music and the instrumental ensemble of music for traditional instrument, etc, in order to show that all the music of these three schools of Zheng has been always attached to their local folk music. Up to now, they are still closely related although Zheng has become a little divided .In chapter two, based on the detailed introduction of the special performing and chosing sound skills of each school, the writer makes a comparison on the differences and relations to each of them.In chapter three, through the general introduction to the analysis of the performers'performing style and the influence of the humanity and dialects to the development of Zheng ,the writer gives a full analysis on the styles of these three schools of Zheng.
