From The Anthologies Of Tang Poetry Anthologized By Tang People Are Analyzed In Terms Poetic Genre To See The Change Of Poetic Genre And The Aesthetic Mindset

As the earliest anthology, Tang Poetry Anthologized by Tang People reflects both the anthologists'concept of literary criticism and the changing tracks of the literary idea in Tang Dynasty. The people's life in Tang Dynasty is a poetized one. The people's poetry in Tang Dynasty is one which is combined with life. As a result, the anthologist's criteria and the changes of the poetic genre inevitably manifest the intellectuals'aesthetic mindset of the different periods and the transformation of the concept of the Tang Dynasty poem. This thesis tries to link the anthology which is an important critic form in ancient Chinese poetics with the analysis of the poetry genre and gives an analysis to the change of the intellectuals'aesthetic mindset in the transitional time between the thriving and mid periods in Tang Dynasty.This thesis intends to develop argumentation from three main aspects. First, the synopsis of Tang Poetry Anthologized by Tang People in the thriving and mid Tang Dynasty is summarized. Second, the change of poetic genre in Heyueyingling Anthology, Zhongxingjianqi Anthology and Jixuan Anthology and the aesthetic mindset are explored. When the anthologies of Tang Poetry Anthologized by Tang People are analyzed in terms poetic genre, only Heyueyingling Anthology, Zhongxingjianqi Anthology and Jixuan Anthology are selected, because they are anthologized by their contemporaries. The anthologists themselves belong to certain literary groups and their individual aesthetic interest and value standard can"be driven by the custom". The aesthetic trend and poetic idea are implied in the anthologized works. Furthermore, the three anthologies are in a succession in terms of time: Heyueyingling Anthology specifies in the poetry of the thriving period, Zhongxingjianqi Anthology and Jixuan Anthology are poetic anthologies prior to the mid period. In this way, the change of the intellectuals'aesthetic mindset can be explored from the poetry itself. Third, the transition of the intellectuals'aesthetic mindset between the thriving period and the mid period is grasped from the different ways of demonstrating contents within the same poetic genre.
