Based on the definition of Yongwu Poems, poems with descriptions of the subject, the thesis focuses on the analysis of Lu You's Yongwu Poems and their features according to three phases of his life experiences. On the basis of Zhang Fuxun's classification on Lu You's Yongwu Poems, in the thesis Lu You's Yongwu Poems are divided into four types: those with the description of subjects, lyrics with the description of subjects, indicating personal ambitions with describing the subjects and those implicating philosophy in the presentation of subjects. The main subject of Yongwu Poems is Lu You's personal experiences and his anxiety of the situation of his family and the nation. Most of his Yongwu poems include grand wishes for the unification of the nation, denunciation of flunkies, contradiction between aspirations to succeed and lack of opportunities, pursuit of perfect personality of elevated ideals and personal integrity.
