The Consumptive Trend Of Literature In Transforming Society

"Consumption" is an unavoidable problem when we study the progress of literature in transforming society since 1990s. It is important to study the forming causations, representations, advantages and disadvantages of the consumptive trend about contemporary literature, for understanding and instructing the progress of contemporary and future literature exactly.The first chapter outlines the representations of the consumptive trend about contemporary literature on the basis of abundant literary affairs and phenomena.Combining macroscopic and microcosmic perspective, the second chapter analyses the consumptive causations and process in literary produce, spread and acceptance from four factors: (1) commercial transformation of books produce and its influence on printing standard of literature; (2) commercial operation in literary spread; (3) the change of reader; (4) the change of authors.Using post-modern theories about literary and culture appropriately, the third part analyses consumptive literature in the transforming society from contents, ideological tendency, writing strategy and aesthetic characters.The last chapter analyses the advantages and disadvantages of consumptive trend, and puts forward several suggestions.Beyond the above contents, the thesis also gives an inferential expectation to the progress of future literature.
