A Study On The Linguistic Features And Cultural Contents Of Shandong Proverb

Shandong proverb, being a idiom in Chinese language system ,is one of the important language materials in the linguistic study. It is a relatively stable language work unit belonging to the lexicology study areas.It is equivalent to a word in the nature and function,which is showed by sentence form,and it is not a general word but a word equivalent.Shandong is one of the Chinese traditional culture birthplaces, which its folk customs are simple and honorable and its language is mellow.So it is an important region where our country traditional culture and dialect can be studied. As a carrier of the public thought and culture, Shandong proverb has many unique features in the linguistic structure, semantics, cultural connotation and etc In sound ,it stresses the rhythm ,level and oblique tone ,and rhyming. But they don't keep the balance of development.Compared to the level and oblique tone,it is asked for the laws of rhythms and rhyming.The three-word proverb in rhythm, the five-word and seven-word one in level and oblique tone and four-ZUI one in rhyming have distinctive regional characteristics in Shandong. In grammar, there are many various syntax forms of the proverbs such as simple sentence,multiple sentence and blending sentence and so on ,which has its own features .In semantics, its content is very rich which includes all kinds of knowledge, and its style is quiet with simple natures.Approximately Shandong proverb is divided into the following models :natural one,social one ,farming one,meteorology one and life one and so on .It has the surface meaning and the metaphor meaning.The former is language meaning and the latter is parole one which is decided by concrete context. Shandong proverb is asked for the pragmatic and rhetoric effects such as analogy, dual and comparison and etc .From the social linguistics perspective ,it deeply influenced by QI and LU culture covered the social life aspects and refracted the colorful culture, mainly including Confucian culture, farming culture and so on. There was once a change in the culture and it would directly affected the words. The change would be reflected in Shandong proverb which showed the distinct time characteristics. This paper described systematically the linguistic features of Shandong proverb. And we discussed the relations between Shandong proverb and culture in the paper to identify its developing laws.
