Don Giovanni is the excellent opera works done by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as well as the masterpiece of the whole opera history. This thesis deeply discusses the unique technique of musical representation and using of musical language by analyzing the musical image-building of the three female roles Donna Anna, Zerlina and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. This thesis is divided into introduction, main text and conclusion, totally three parts. In introduction part, in order to grasp the composer's reason and intention of creating this opera from the angle of history and culture, the social background and condition of opera of Europe in early 18th century is briefly summarized. In Chapterâ… of main text, composer Mozart's personal life, course of musical works creation and style of his opera are briefly introduced. In Chapterâ…¡, the introduction mainly based on the creating background and main content of the opera. In Chapterâ…¢, also the most important part, musically analyzes the characters in the opera which is discussed from four aspects. The conclusion part gives Don Giovanni a positive recognition on the embodiment of Mozart's opera style, and on the contribution to the art of opera.
