Secularization is a universal law in the development of religion. In the course of religious secularization, Puritan immigrants brought free ideology to North America and created brilliant American culture on this old and mysterious land. The thesis is made up of three parts which are respectively introduction, main body and conclusion. Introduction emphatically points out the purpose of the thesis, the current research situations in China, the bibliography and the research method of the thesis.The main body is divided into three chapters. The first chapter concerns about the secularization of religion, illustrates the definition of religious secularization and the essence of it. The second chapter is concerned about the development of the secularization and lays an emphasis on the Christianity's historical contributions to the medieval and analyzes the reasons that religion evolved into secularzation. The third chapter deals with religious secularization in North America, which analyzes religion immigrants in the course of religious secularization and the basic religious situations of North America Colony. Then discusses the spiritual influence that religion brings to American nationality in this era.…………Conclusion is the summary of the whole thesis. Religious secularization is a universal law in the development of religion. The secularization of religion brings about great differences in promoting the development of the native nationality due to different regions and historical cultural basis. During this time, Europe and America accidentally found out the excellent characteristics of individual existence, therefore led to great social revolution. While other countries and nationalities represented by China still follow the secular road that they depend on human's own power to construct society.
