Summarization On Ching Dynasty's Policy Of Blockage In Northeast China

As the main means of enforcing and maintaining guideline of"divide and rule"by Manchu government, the policy of blockage was part of its general strategy. This policy has been the focus of many researchers who study history of Ching Dynasty since modern times. For protecting Manchu's own customs, avoiding its being influenced by the Han nationality, Manchu government carried out the policy of blockage for over two hundred years in Northeast China, whose result was the lag of Northeast China's politics, economy and culture, and void of defense. During Opium War, confronting the situation of domestic trouble and foreign invasion in Northeast China, Manchu government furnished the frontier with inhabitants, and this was the end of the policy of blockage.For promoting the research of Manchu government's blocking Northeast China, this thesis analyses and summarizes the present fruits, finds out their achievements and deficiencies, points out their differences, so as to understand grasp the policy of blockage more reasoningly and scientifically.Chapter 1 summarizes the beginning and end time of the policy of blockage in Northeast China and its origins. It consists of two topics: 1. the beginning and end time and the range of Manchu government's blocking Northeast China; 2. the origins of Manchu government's blocking Northeast China.Chapter 2 summarizes reasons and influences of Manchu's lifting the blockage in Northeast China. It consists of two topics: 1. the reasons of Manchu's lifting the blockage in Northeast China, which comprises within and without causes; 2. the influences of Ching Dynasty's policy of blockage in Northeast China.Chapter 3 estimates Ching Dynasty's policy of blockage in Northeast China according to its policy of pluralistic frontier. It consists of two topics: 1. estimating Ching Dynasty's policy of frontier nationality according to its policy of blockage in Northeast China; 2. reflecting Ching Dynasty's policy of blockage in Northeast China according to the actuality of Northeast China. The policy of blockage in Northeast China led to the weakness of the foundation of Northeast China's economy, deferred the course of frontier's becoming hinerland.
