The adverb "jiu" appears to be simple and is a primary grammar point, but it not only has various meanings but also has different pragmatic environmental and different frequency of every meaning. All level students, no matter junior,senior, have mistakes about"jiu"and stentece pattens related. This essay is to study it conbining the theory research,inspection of textbook and sthdent suvay.The essay is arranged as below: Firstly,make category of"jiu"according to the studey before and different kinds of dictionaries. Then make a suspect to two textbooks, and on the base of sunmrise of research in the past. Make a suvay to students of Chinese department in Grand 2 acorrding to the results of textbook inspection, to reflect the teaching and textbook at last.The results of the essay is that the textbooks inspected have cover most of the meaning of"jiu", but there are several disadvantages, such as ignoring the important points,unblance between explaination and practices,piling up grammers,indrectly explaination,untypical examples and so on. Moreover, there are some advices for improvement.
