| During 1757-1842, the Qing regime carries out the policy of having trade relations limited in Canton, so the raw silk and the fabric produced in Jiangnan has to be transported to Canton with long distance and then exported to the western countries. In addition to this, the Qing regime also carries the policy of forbidding the silk goods outlet. As a result, the exportation of Jiangnan silk goods suffers two restrictive policies. This thesis will discuss the process of the homeland circulation in details, including the form, the route, the cost and the operation of Hong merchant. Besides this, the thesis also will calculate and analyze the data such as the utter amount, the proportion in the whole and the proportion in every country. The aim is to show the traits of the exportation of Jiangnan silk goods. The exportation of Jiangnan silk goods is suppressed by the Guangzhou single port system in fact. |
