Since Chinese literature entered the 21st century, along with the implementation ofChina market economy and the deepening of the market turns, consumerism hasemerged in some place, and in some developed regions it grows into be a general trend. It's obvious that the influence of the market economy and consumerism impacts onliterature; they not only directly contribute to the aggravation of the trend ofcommercialization of literature, but also directly affect the shape of desiring writing ofChinese temporary literature. In Chinese literary world, under the influence ofconsumerism, literature aesthetic has been neglected seriously, the flavor ofmerchandise becomes strong, desire-writing overflows for a while, humanities andpoetic flavor has practically been wiped out. The article, mainly through the research totexts of desire writing since 1990, reveals the problems and present situation of theoverflow of Chinese literature desire writing, and analyzes the aesthetic features ofdesire novels, and further probes into the causes that lead to Chinese temporary novels'situation, finally, the paper also tries to propose the author's own views on the trends ofChinese literature development. The article may be divided into four parts. The fhst chapter: Globalization and culture of consumerism. It mainly elaboratesthe global background of Chinese consumerism. The influence of the consumerism toChinese literature has profound global background, and the rapid development ofcapitalist economy provides material basis for consumerism, while the wave ofeconomic globalization also supplies with technical backup service and substanceguarantee. Just because of the background, we should keep an objective and dialecticattitude towards consumerism. The breeding and stretch of Chinese consumerismculture, by nature, meets the need of our economy development, it is the result ofstruggle between local culture and western capitalism, and we should maintain the mostrealistic attitude which need us take strategies to receive actively, assimilate and discardthe capitalistic consumerism. The second chapter: the desire portrait and the seeking novelty of consumption ofthe contemporary novel. The chapter mainly discusses the myriad manifestations ofdesire-writing overflow under the influence of consumerism to Chinese contemporarynovel. It chooses intensively some texts of some representative writers to analyze and comment, and points out their existing performances and tendencies of desire writing, and it also emphasizes the negative effects of their desire writings. These writers suchas serious writers, personal-subjective writers, fair lady writers and vanguard writers, who are popular in the time of Chinese market economy and consumerism, all mireddown in the mud of desire-writing and couldn't extricate themselves from their plights. For gaining a larger share of the market and their fames and gains, they forget authors'social responsibilities and sacred duties of protector for human spiritual home, and havegone to their heads by the material desire and profit. Their behaviors will have morenegative effects naturally. The third chapter: the plane revelries and text imitations. From the angle of thecontent and artistic form, the chapter summarizes and elaborates the characteristics ofdesire writing under consumerism and its aesthetic connotation. The texts, whichincarnate desire writing, glamorize immoderately plane, superficial and fleshlyrevelries. In the texts, the roles are all fallen into the desire and sank into be slavescontrolled by desire. Because writers' writings are aimed at market and profit, theybecame vanes of writers' creation, so it leads to abundant similarities in plots and texts. These phenomena display the inner contradiction of desire writing. On the one side, forcatering for consumption and readers, the desire writings should adapt to readers andthe masses, this cannot but bring on text-similar phenomenon; on the other hand, thetext similarity excludes readers and the masses on the opposite aspect, there are no onewho like reading repeating stuffs, the irreconcilability of the contradiction decides thefinal tendency and the fate of desire writing. The fourth chapter: Sword of Damocles and causes of consumption symptoms. The chapter analyzes the existent causes of desire writing from five aspects, includingits rational elements. Except its right rational factors, its negative effects are obvious, readers, authors, critic, publish house, and bookmen should have their ownresponsibilities and duties for it.Conclusion: the tendency of Chinese literature. The chapter mainly discusses the futureof Chinese literature, at the same time proposes some views on ecological literature. The existent problem of Chinese contemporary literature is one problem involvedmulti-fields, multi-systems, multi-layers and multi-disciplinary, which needs efforts ofauthors, readers, critic and bookmen together to reform, only so we can build one cleanecological literary world.
