Job burnout is a new and developing research field in social psychology and industrial psychology in recent years. However, almost all existing studies focus on the service industries, as teachers, doctors, etc. This study aims to explore the burnout phenonema and its mechanism on grass roots employees in electronic manufacturing factories. First, MBI-GS is adopted and validated effective as the research tool. Then we tell the relationship between occupational stress and burnout, futher, we discuss the affecting mechanism of the work locus of control between them. The results are:1. Grass roots employees'burnout is not serious. The ratio of Low-burnout, middle-burnout, high-burnout are 34.6%,13.0%,2.7%. and in the three dimensions exhaustion, cynicism and reduced professional efficacy, the proportion of employees above the critical value anr 32.3%, 21.8%, 14.4%.2. The burnout in this factories are: wemon workers'burnout are higher, and young employees below 20 or employees with 2-3 working years are most likely to attactde by burnout. Married or local workers'burnout are relatively lower.3. occupational stress can significantly influence the burnout, espically vocational stress, psychological stress and physical stress.4. work locus of control play a importmant role between occupational stress and job-burnout. external locus of control is a mediator.
