Yong Rub is an energetic, innovative composer who is also a director. He is one of the most outstanding Mongolian composers. He wrote lots of Mongolian music and did a lot of researches on Mongolian music all his life. As he said: as long as I am alive, I will write more Mongolian symphonies and other counterpoint. I believe that the great composer like Beethoven will be born in Mongolian areas, and then we can make more people know Mongolian music in the world, which needs more people's hard working, I will strive for it.Yong Rub is good at linking occident composing skills with Mongolian musical culture's thinking, languages and style, with which he possesses special music language and composing characteristics .Six symphonies he composed are summarization of his exploration in the past decades, they are not only the composer's accomplishment, but also the important achievement of Mongolian symphonies in the almost half of the century.Song of the E ER GU NA River which is a symphonic poem of Yong Rub's representative six symphonies is the object of the paper. The paper analyzes it on some aspects, like structure,chord,musical motive. At the same time, I use ethnomusicology and musical aesthetics'research methods; I try to study how he can link Mongolian tradition with other composer's composing skills and excellent experiences.I believe the paper not only will be of importance for future composition and teaching, but also be of positive function of Mongolian musical culture's inheritance and development.
