One of the direct and immediate means for the commodities'entry into the market, as well as one of the important factors in stimulating the consumers'purchasing desire, ads play an important role in the operation of the enterprises which we cannot afford to overlook. Ads have an active role in evoking consumers'latent demands and enhancing their cognizance of the commodities, as well as stimulating purchases. Consequently, this thesis classifies the themes of the ads, the brands and origins of the commodities, as well as the spokespersons'races, origins and the gender of the ads in the department stores in Huhhot. Then, I carried on the questionnaire which was about ads in Huhhot stores. Besides, I went to six department stores in Huhhot to investigate and take notes. Through statistics, I studies the characteristics of the ads in Huhhot's department stores. By using the two dimensional contingency tables and Chi-Square Test, it verifies that the themes of ads and the selection of spokespersons'origins vary one another according to the nature of enterprises and that there also exist differences in the ads'themes and quantity of different kinds of commodities, however, there is no difference in the selection of spokespersons'gender for the different enterprises. Then, in accordance with such phenomenon, my thesis puts forward some suggestions for ads which are made by enterprises in the department stores.
