A Study On The Prepositions In Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben

Scripts for story-telling in Song and Yuan folk literature are the important language materials for the study of modem Chinese because of its strong features of spoken language.This article is intended to examine the prepositions in Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben which keeps more features of the Song and Yuan language.The grammatical meanings and functions of the prepositions in Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben are carefully and concretely described by way of observation to the end and quantitative analysis.On the base of it the method of comparative analysis is used.This paper describes 56 prepositions in Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben. There are 47 monosyllable prepositions and 9 disyllabic words.In Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben,there are 8 prepositions "在,于,至,向,往,到,以,与" which may lie after the main verbs or lie before the main verbs.The others lie before the main verbs.Compared with Shi Shuo Xin Yu,Dun Huang Bian Wen Ji,prepositions in Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben are of a bigger number.The prepositions are gradually change.The disyllabic words increase.The post-verb proportion shows a stable decreasing inclination.The prepositions in Qing Ping Shan Tang Hua Ben are similar to Jin Ping Mei Ci Hua.
